Like all community theaters, we love volunteers. We are always looking for people willing to help. It doesn't matter if you've never done this before -- if you have some time and are willing to share some of it with us, we will train you! Some of our most pressing needs are listed below, but if you have other talents or ideas that might benefit our theater, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear from you.
Calling all techies! Not all of the talent goes onstage -- we are always searching for dependable people who prefer to be backstage. Set builders and painters, light and sound technicians, stage crew, costumers.....whatever your interest, we need you. Experienced or not, please come and join our team.
Perhaps our most pressing need at the moment is talented, energetic fundraisers. We would like to form a committee, under the direction of our board, whose main purpose would be to support the mission of the theater through fundraising activities. Let's face it, putting on quality performances gets expensive, and no community theater can survive long on just ticket sales alone. We would like to eventually build a dedicated theater space of our own....but that takes money and that requires fundraisers. If you have a flair for fundraising, we need you!
While not all of our shows require music, we do plan on performing at least one full-length musical every year. It is always good to know who we can go to for musical expertise. Do you play an instrument? Would you be interested in being a part of a pit orchestra? Please let us know.
Logos are some of the most important pieces of our publicity. Each year we must come up with original logos for each show that we do, preferably before we announce the season in May. If graphic arts is your thing and you would be willing to collaborate with the director on individual show logos, please contact us.
Would you like to support our mission as a community theater, but lack the time to be personally involved? We welcome your tax-deductible donation in any amount. Financial supporters are listed in each program during the year of their contribution. Contributions may be sent to Rising Star Productions, PO Box 625, Longview, WA 98632. Please include a note telling us your name as you would like it to appear in the program.
We are also in need of
costumers. If you enjoy sewing and have time to help costume a show, please let us know. It is a time-consuming job for one person alone and we would love to have several talented seamstresses helping us out.
